Libraries are central to information sharing, creating spaces and programs for community growth, and allowing access for all. The Minor in Library and Information Science is designed to provide you with an understanding of the methods of gathering, organizing, and sharing information within libraries and other contexts.

Program Information
The LIS minor is appropriate for students who wish to get exposure to the field of library and information science. This program does not qualify participants for a Washington State Library Media (P-12) endorsement and is not equivalent to requirements for an MLIS or MLS.
Online Program
The LIS Minor is an online program with the option to take several elective courses in-person at our Ellensburg, WA campus.

Degree Explanation
All students in the minor are required to complete twenty credit hours in the core curriculum. You may choose courses within the remaining curriculum areas depending on your specific interests. A 2.0 GPA must be maintained in program courses. The minor is 29-32 credits total.
